KJIMS Homes Begins New Custom Home On Marco Island

Cliffton Ct Front Elevation - 2015 1022KJIMS Homes, a luxury home builder currently active in the Naples and Marco Island markets, is finalizing design of a new custom on Marco Island. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2016. The home is personally designed by Dan Dicomo, a long time resident, and one of the principals of Kjims Homes.

The inspiration of the design of the home was based on the clients viewing the recently completed Simonton Model, which was sold over the summer. However the Simonton was built on a 110’ by 110’ square lot whereas the clients had purchased a key lot. “This presented some challenges in the design”, explains Dan Dicomo,” as the client wanted a similar open floor plan, two bedrooms, and a 3 car garage on the first floor.” “I had worked on some designs for similar lots but each one of these key lots are varied with their setbacks, and it took quite a few revisions to get is right for the client.”

The home will feature a Coastal Transitional theme throughout with a focus on the open floor plan and large glass opening out to an expansive pool deck, taking advantage of the view. The exterior features many details that are not typical in most homes built in the Marco area. Andersen wood windows and doors throughout and, 10’ Windoor pocketing sliding glass doors to the pool area accentuate the views. The lania will have cypress wood ceilngs, a summer kitchen with bar, and automated roll down screens. The pool deck will be travertine and also have a fire pit.

The interior floor plan is open with master suite and guest bedroom downstairs. Three additional bedrooms and three bathrooms will be upstairs with a large loft area, bar and laundry for guests. The home will have over 4300 square feet of air conditioned area. In addition the front elevation will have a covered front entry and balcony and also a rear balcony on the 2nd floor. Total square footage under roof will be over 6,100 square feet.

“All of Kjims are built using only the best building practices including building envelope protection and energy saving features. Waterproofing membranes are installed at all showers, exterior decks and all wood on the exterior of the building. Icenyne insulation creates an insulated attic space which helps the mechanical systems work more efficiently. Many of our standards for building are upgrades for other builders, but we feel that these should be a standard for our clients”, explains Jon MacDonough, on of the principals of Kjims Homes.
